SHS students Reyhan Rajabali, Sean Thomas, and Garrick Gelarden have spent the last year building their very own T-shirt company, Enjoy.
Reyhan had wanted to start a clothing company but didn’t have a clue about how to start. One day, he decided to pitch the idea of a t-shirt company to his friends, Garrick and Sean. The three of them sat down at Panera and started brainstorming on how they could make this dream a reality. Their inspiration for this brand came from their drive to promote healthy mindsets and self-love.
Reyhan tells us that they work to “create a world where people are uplifted, optimistic, and willing to be their best selves.” As for the name, “Enjoy.” Reyhan states, “After almost an hour and a lot of brainstorming random words, we came up with ‘Enjoy.’ and it just stuck.”
Every team member has a distinct role in the company, but they work together to make important decisions such as purchasing items and choosing designs.
“Reyhan is in charge of social media, images, and content posting. He also takes the lead in design work before seeking feedback and making additional revisions from Sean and I. Sean manages most of the technical aspects using Excel and our various spreadsheets. I handle most of the writing for the paragraphs and quotes for our shirts,” said Gelarden.
Successfully running a company, even a smaller one requires a lot of work. But it all starts with idea of the shirts themselves, and the process of creating their shirts involves several steps.
“We purchase the shirts individually from Michael’s. For the designs, we order a heat transfers gang sheet from Ninja Transfers. Depending on t
he orders, we determine the amount of gang sheet we need, so we don’t necessarily have to buy 20ft each time,” said Thomas.
They promote their merchandise on their Instagram page “enjoy.apparel.rgs.” Their goal for “Enjoy.” is to reach a larger audience with their messages.
In their words, “We want these shirts and their messages to have a positive impact on people across the globe. It may seem impossible now, but we have no doubt we can make it a reality.”
