Fashion Icons at The Inauguration

Wednesday, January 20 the Inauguration took place turning President-elect Biden and vice president-elect Harris into President Biden and Vice President Harris. The inauguration not only displayed the new president and vice president but also absolute fashion icons parading their impeccable style and outfits.

Kamala Harris sported a stunning monochromatic outfit. The purple knee-length dress and coat by Christopher John Rogers captivated the audience and accentuated her charisma. With Kamala Harris as the first Black woman and person of Asian descent to serve as Vice President, her outfit was truly the best way to start her reign.

Jill Biden, the First Lady, stunned the audience with her monochromatic cerulean blue wool tweed coat and dress by Alexandra O’Neill. Flaunting off her doctorate with her all-blue outfit, Jill Biden was a figure to behold.

Michelle Obama, a former First Lady, also donned a monochromatic look. She wore a burgundy sweater, pants, and cashmere coat by Sergio Hudson, flaunting nothing but confidence.

Amanda Gorman astounded the audience with not only her original poem “The Hill We Climb, ” but also with her outfit. She was dressed in a white poplin shirt, a yellow coat, a black leather skirt, and a bright red headband by Prada.

Ella Emhoff, the stepdaughter of the vice president, flaunted her style by wearing a Batsheva dress with a plaid coat that was adorned with crystals on its shoulders from Miu Miu. Her stunning looks not only wowed the crowd but also caught the attention of a modeling agency, IMG Models.

Last but not least, Bernie Sanders shook social media with his jaw-dropping outfit. He stole the spotlight with his black trousers and beige jacket that was perfect for the cold weather. But there is one aspect of Bernie’s outfit that must not be neglected. His gloves that exhibited both style and immaculate vibes, were made from recycled plastic bottles and sweaters.

Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez added their own celebrity glamour to the proceedings as well.  All this established the 2021 Inauguration as a new standard for Inauguration outfits and will make it difficult for future attendees to top the stunning outfits. With the awe inducing outfits forever deep rooted in the minds of the public, the next inauguration brings hopes of catching sight of even more astonishing outfits.
